Southlake
Located in Tarrant and Denton Counties, Southlake is a suburban city that is very affluent. It is a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. With over 26,000 residents, Southlake is known for its superior schools, wealth, and high school football. It is also known for premium Southlake TX real estate that contributes to the continuous growth of the area.

History

The Southlake area was not settled until the 1840s and not officially incorporated as Southlake until the mid-1950s. Previously, the area was made up of Union Church, Whites Chapel, Jellico, and Dove. It remained a rural area until the 1970s when the DFW International Airport was completed. Because the town is located close to the airport, there was a major Southlake real estate boom due to a fast population increase. Many vacant Southlake properties were being filled with new homes and businesses. It is expected that the area will boast 35,000 residents in the near future.

Much of this growth has to do with the economy. The company, Travelocity, has its headquarters in Southlake’s Solana Business Park. This is just one of the major businesses in the area. Plus, Southlake has close proximity to Dallas and Forth Worth.
